My name is Sydney, and I am a 6-month old female domestic longhair cat. My mom thought she was saving her furniture and my sisters from scratches by having me declawed. While in surgery, I went into cardiac arrest. When my mom picked me up after surgery, I couldn't see or smell. If I couldn't find my litterbox, my mom couldn't keep me. I didn't have any traditional treatment because the vets didn't know what to do but wait and see if I got better on my own.
Mom took me immediately to the Integrative Veterinary Center. I was given acupuncture treatments and traditional Chinese herbs. After seeing Dr. Beebe (my hero!) for two weeks, my sight and sense of smell returned. I was able to find the litterbox, my food dish, and play with my cat toys.
