Ophthalmic Diseases

Sadie is an 8-year-old spayed female Cocker Spaniel. She has episcleritis, an autoimmune disorder that affects the eyes (Sadie's body is attacking her eyes). She also had retinal detachment of both her eyes. Sadie has been struggling with this condition for the past three years.

Sadie was receiving up to 5 drops of an ophthalmic steroid solution a day (sometimes only 1 drop, but that was a minimum each day). When we came to Dr. Beebe at the Integrative Veterinary Center, she was not sure what she could do. If we would have come to her sooner, she might have been able to help prevent some of the chronic problems we had. Dr. Beebe changed Sadie's diet, performed acupuncture treatments, and gave her Traditional Chinese herbs. Dr. Beebe started treatment on Sadie once a week for six weeks initially, and then we came in for maintenance acupuncture. Sadie has been on Chinese herbs continuously throughout her treatment.

Dr. Beebe and the Integrative Veterinary Center are truly miracle workers. They saved some of Sadie's sight. We wish we would have found out about the IVC sooner. Her retinas started to reattach and she has not lost her sight yet. They do everything they can to help Sadie. They seem to never give up, even when traditional vets do.

We are grateful for the Integrative Veterinary Center. They have truly helped our pet.
