| Inside Roseville Excerpt from Westerners Catching Up with Acupuncture by Dell Richards Fall 2004 |
| Signe Beebe, a veterinarian with offices in Sacramento and Davis, also found acupuncture after struggling with her own health problems. "I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and was unsuccessfully treated with Western medicine," she says. "I had to sell my veterinary practice two years after my diagnosis." Beebe tried everything from nutritional supplements to Rolfing to reiki to a magnetic mattress, with limited success. "I improved about 40 percent." In 1997, she found an acupuncturist. Within two years, she was cured and getting her degree in Oriental medicine. Today, her integrated veterinary medicine practice specializes in geriatric animals as well as the rehabilitation of working and show animals. |
